These standards guide contributions to CineMapper News, including film and TV news, reviews and filming-location articles.

Accuracy and sources

Contributors should verify factual claims against reliable sources and link to primary sources where possible, such as official announcements, production information and interviews. Distinguish confirmed information from rumour, estimates and speculation. Attribute reporting by other publications and quotations to their source.

Reviews and opinion

Make clear when an article expresses a reviewer's judgement or opinion. Separate that judgement from verifiable facts, and do not present promotional claims as independent findings.

Original work and images

Submit original writing, respect copyright and credit quotations, photographs and other material appropriately. Contributors should establish permission or another valid basis for using third-party material.

Interests and commercial relationships

Disclose relationships that could affect a reader's assessment of an article, including sponsorship, affiliate links, complimentary access and relevant personal or financial interests. Paid promotional material should be clearly labelled.

AI assistance

Contributors remain responsible for accuracy and originality when using automated tools. Verify sources and quotations directly; do not invent interviews, sources, personal experiences or reporting. Disclose material use of generated content to the editor.
